About SuraMedical.

Co-founded by a Wound Care Physician, SuraMedical truly understands the chronic leg wound market and the need for WoundAlert to ensure better care for patients suffering from this debilitating condition.

Established in 2016.

SuraMedical was born out of the 2016 Massachusetts Institute of Technology Grand Hack. Our main technical and sales and marketing resources are based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which has a strong start-up environment as well as world-class medical device resources. 

Our Goal.

We aim to transform treatment of chronic wounds by shifting clinical practice and research paradigms. By arming providers and patients with insights to improve standard-of-care adherence, we will directly improve therapeutic outcomes. By enabling researchers to isolate the impact of variations in standard-of-care, we will accelerate the development of  advanced solutions targeting the most difficult wounds.

NOAH ROSEN, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Rosen has been involved in direct patient care for the past 20 years, treating innumerable leg wounds and bearing witness to the failures of standard care. He has published several articles and book chapters on wound care and is currently Director of the Good Samaritan Hospital Wound Center.

JON ENGEL, PH.D.

Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Jon Engel brings design and manufacture expertise in healthcare wearables having previously worked as research scientist and product development engineer at Corventis, Inc, which successfully brought a wearable cardiac event monitor through FDA clearance, achieved wide market acceptance and was acquired by Medtronic in 2015.
